Anthony Stansfeld, Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley, congratulates the Thames Valley Police officers and staff named in the New Year Honours List.
"I am delighted that three Thames Valley police officers, and two staff members were recognised in the Queens New Year Honours List. Many congratulations to all of them. They are all well deserved, and reflect well on Thames Valley Police.
"I am particularly pleased that our former Chief Constable, Francis Habgood was honoured with a Knighthood. He became Chief Constable during that most difficult of times when TVP, like all other police forces, was being significantly reduced in numbers. That we came through this in good shape, are now seen nationally as a leading police force, was in great part due to his leadership.
"Detective Superintendent Nigel Doak's Queens Police Medal reflects some of the most difficult and successful investigations he has had to deal with over the past five years.
"Former Neighbourhood Inspector Chris Ward received a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to the people of West Berkshire, both as a police officer and for the charities he has supported.
"Neil Cussen received an MBE for services to policing and forensic science, his hidden and unpublicised contribution has been considerable.
"Our former Force Chaplain, the Revd Canon David Wilbraham also received an MBE. Most of us will remember his great service to Thames Valley Police. He now fills that same role at a national level.
"Many congratulations to all of them."
