Rising 3,209ft about sea level, Scafell Pike is England's highest mountain. The summit was donated to the National Trust by Lord Leconfield "in perpetual memory of the men of the Lake District who fell for God and King, for freedom peace and right in the Great War". As a natural war memorial, what better place to support the work of Pilgrim Bandits.

This small charity was set up in 2007 to support servicemen and women injured either mentally or physically during their service. Thanks to the Curtis Palmer Programme this fantastic work has been extended to support emergency service personnel. Police officers from Thames Valley have already benefited from the programme and during the whole of 2022 I am seeking to raise money to support this fantastic cause.

As well as going "dry" for the whole of the year, at the start of February, I'll be climbing Scafell Pike to help raise money for this brilliant charity. On Friday 4th February - World Cancer Day - I'll be joining officers from TVP in reaching the top of the mountain. Pilgrim Bandits uses trips just like this to restore self-confidence and instil self-belief in those who have suffered a physical or mental injury.

Please consider sparing a little cash to help support those who have put themselves in harms way for our benefit by sponsoring me today!
