People across the Vale of White Horse are being urged to keep an eye out for a yellow letter being sent to every household in the district this month.
The yellow letter explains that residents are required to confirm who currently lives in their property. Vale of White Horse District Council need this information to make sure everyone who is eligible to vote is able to do so in future elections.
As soon as residents get their yellow letter they should visit householdresponse.com/southandvale to confirm or update their details.
Important – each household will need to confirm, even if all the details are correct.
By confirming immediately, residents avoid receiving a reminder yellow letter over the next coming months and will help save money for the councils. If a household doesn’t respond to the second letter, the councils will contact them by telephone or may have to visit properties this autumn to obtain the correct information.
Residents who do not have access to the internet can confirm by completing and returning the form that comes with the yellow letter. Households whose details are correct also can respond online, by phone or texting the number included in their letter.
Margaret Reed, Electoral Registration Officer for Vale of White Horse said: “As soon as you get your yellow letter, please confirm your details. You need to do this even if the information is correct, and if you respond immediately, you will avoid receiving reminder letters, a phone call or even a visit to your home. The easiest and quickest option is to confirm your details online.”
