Vale of White Horse District Council has given children in Faringdon an early Christmas present - £80,000 worth of new play equipment in Pye Street Park play area.
The new equipment includes swings, a roundabout, a multi-play area, rockers and a zip wire.
The play area has also been upgraded with a new rubber surface, making it even safer for children using the site.
Cllr Charlotte Dickson, Cabinet Member for Parks and Grounds Maintenance at Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “I’m sure young children in the Faringdon area will really enjoy using the new equipment, which has opened in time for the Christmas holidays.
“This year we made a commitment to upgrade our play areas so young children across the Vale would have better facilities. We’ve already provided new equipment at Manor Road, Wantage and now at Pye Street in Faringdon. By next summer we’ll also have a brand new play area in Abingdon’s Abbey Meadow too.”
