Business owners, managers, leaders and entrepreneurs are invited to attend the launch of the South and Vale business awards taking place at Cornerstone in Didcot.
This year, South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils have joined forces to include businesses of all shapes and sizes based across the southern Oxfordshire and Science Vale areas.
The launch is at 9am-11am on Wednesday 31 October and builds on the success of the Vale’s V4Business awards last year run by the economic development team at the councils.
The special networking event will provide all the necessary information on the awards and seven categories being launched. Business representatives will get the chance to chat to the award sponsors and mingle with former entrants and winners.
Mike Murray, Cabinet Member for Development and Regeneration at Vale of White Horse District Council said, “We are very excited to be able to launch the business awards in our area again this year. There are so many excellent organisations based here, some undertaking the most ground-breaking work, and these awards can help to put them in the limelight.”
Paul Harrison, Cabinet Member for Development and Regeneration at South Oxfordshire District Council said, “This is the first time businesses and leaders based in our district are able to nominate themselves and others for these prestigious awards. We look forward to championing great leadership and good practice and to support our local organisations to grow and succeed.”
Simon Bassett, lead partner from UK Top 100 law firm and lead sponsor, Royds Withy King, said: “Following the success of the inaugural 2018 Vale4Business Awards, we are delighted to once again be on board as lead sponsor of the 2019 awards which have grown to include businesses based across South Oxfordshire as well as the Vale of White Horse. We have great pride in supporting our communities and we are looking forward to working with the South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils, and the other sponsors, to promote and celebrate some of the most diverse and successful businesses based across the regions. We would encourage businesses of all shapes and sizes to keep an eye out for more details about the awards and the application process and we look forward to seeing you at the launch event.”
Following the launch, nominations are expected pour in for the seven awards and submissions will be accepted into the new year. Once announced, the finalists of each category will be invited along to attend a fabulous awards ceremony at Williams F1 Conference Centre in March next year.
Sponsors of the awards are Royds Withy King (lead sponsor), HSBC, Richardsons Group, Bluestream Recruitment, MSC R&D, FOCUS Oxford Risk Management, Hilton Garden Inn (Abingdon), Harwell, and Better for Leisure.
