Up to £10,000 is now available to help small businesses looking to improve their energy efficiency.
The Carbon Trust has just launched The Green Business Fund. A national scheme to provide money and support for smaller businesses to replace their old, power-guzzling equipment.
Companies can apply, on a first come first served basis, for a contribution to cover up to 30 per cent of an energy efficiency or equipment replacement project. The money can be used to help purchase a range of equipment, including energy efficient lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning and energy efficiency controls.
The scheme also offers energy saving training, cost saving assessments and implementation advice, along with expert advice to boost the efficiency and productivity of new equipment.
To find out more about the scheme, and how to improve energy efficiency, The Carbon Trust is inviting small businesses to a workshop on 15 November at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot from 9.30am and 11.30am. If you would like to come along please register at gbfoxfordshire.eventbrite.co.uk.
Hugh Jones, Managing Director, Advisory, at the Carbon Trust said: “Our experience of working with thousands of companies across the UK indicates that year-on-year savings of 20% to 30% can be delivered through action on energy efficiency. We’d encourage smaller companies to apply to make the most of the fund on offer in order to realise significant savings on their bottom line.”
South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are supporting the workshop event.
Cllr John Cotton, Leader of South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “We know there are a lot of small businesses that are keen to improve their energy efficiency to help reduce running costs. The new funding and help that’s on offer will provide a real boost for those looking to carry out this work.
Cllr Matthew Barber, Leader of Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “If you run a small business and want to find out more about how you can boost your energy efficiency make sure you come along to the workshop on 15 November. There be lots of great advice plus information on how you can apply to The Green Business Fund.”
