A cupcake sale and family fun afternoon organised by Vale of White Horse District Council’s Chairman has raised £190 for two charities.
Chairman Cllr Reg Waite hosted the event at the Northern Neighbourhood Community Centre, on Didcot’s Great Western Park on Thursday 17 August from 2-4pm for Vale residents.
Lots of families attended and bought cupcakes, with children taking part in a cupcake-themed colouring competition, ‘pin the cherry on the cupcake’ game, and having fun on a bouncy castle. A raffle also took place.
All proceeds from money raised will go to the Chairman’s two chosen charities for 2017/18 – the Children’s Air Ambulance and Alzheimer’s Society.
Cllr Waite said: “These are two extremely worthwhile charities and I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the event. As well as raising money for good causes, it was great to see people of all ages coming together in the community.”
Other charity events are being hosted by the Chairman over coming months, including an Aunt Sally match taking place at the Hart of Harwell on Monday 11 September, from 6.30pm.
